My Exit: Jim MacNaughton

James at 42 and his little cupcake.

Every Monday night our friends at WEXT do this thing called My Exit -- local listeners get to come into the station and program an hour of music. So we thought it'd be fun to find out a little bit about these people and why they picked the songs on their play list.

Here's tonight's person:

Who?
Jim MacNaughton from Albany. Coordinator at Rensselaer ARC. 20 year band member alumni- 1 year into retirement & still waiting for those checks to kick in. Downhill bike racer. Infrequent poster here at All Over Albany as James at 42.

How would you describe your musical taste?
Nowadays, all things rock: full stacks and at least 1 axe. Dueling Wah Wahs are a plus!

A few songs from Jim's My Exit show:
The Hellacopters - A House is Not a Motel. Love cover. One of my favorite bands. These Swedes say "Respect the Rock, America".

Motorhead - Please Don't Touch. Johnny Kidd and the Pirates cover. Duet with UK's Girlschool. It wouldn't be a rawk show without adding some gravel that is Lemmy's voice.

13th Floor Elevators - I've Got Levitation.
OK, my show isn't all heavy heavy heavy. 1st generation Austin psych.

Black Angels - First Vietnam War. - a lighter version! The next wave of heavy psych from Austin.

Tight Bros From Way Back When - Badger.
The fine gents helped me to realize that there is life after punk rock.

You can hear Jim's My Exit show tonight at 8 at 97.7 or at exit977.org.

Here's how to schedule your own My Exit show on WEXT.

Say Something!

We'd really like you to take part in the conversation here at All Over Albany. But we do have a few rules here. Don't worry, they're easy. The first: be kind. The second: treat everyone else with the same respect you'd like to see in return. Cool? Great, post away. Comments are moderated so it might take a little while for your comment to show up. Thanks for being patient.
