Dark signals
We always get a little annoyed when we see people blatantly ignoring the rules at a traffic light that's out because of a power outage (four-way stop!). So we're happy to see that someone, an RPI professor specifically, is thinking about how to smooth out those situations.
Say Something!
We'd really like you to take part in the conversation here at All Over Albany. But we do have a few rules here. Don't worry, they're easy. The first: be kind. The second: treat everyone else with the same respect you'd like to see in return. Cool? Great, post away. Comments are moderated so it might take a little while for your comment to show up. Thanks for being patient.

The other day I did the 4 way stop thing at an out light, and the guy behind me decided to honk, then pass me on the right as I was starting to go again.
This was on a city street and right near a public school with lots of pedestrians.
I will love this prof forever if it works.

The first Capital Region traffic situation that I'd really like to see smoothed out is the ridiculous timing on the traffic signals on main roads. Is it possible to get from Washington & Lark to Washington & Colvin without encountering at least 6 red lights? No. Personally, I find it not only inconvenient, but believe that it contributes to the general comfort that Albany drivers have running red lights.
