In a NYT story yesterday a guy says he's collected $500k over the last decade by "stooping" at an OTB in Midtown Manhattan. (Stooping = gleaning for winning betting slips that have been tossed.) Seasons at Saratoga once included hundreds of stoopers -- but as John Holl reported in 2004, modern technology has thinned their ranks considerably. [via]
