Santa Speedo Sprint 2009 photos

santa speedo jump

It's 25 degrees! Jump for joy!

This year's ASAP Santa Speedo Sprint was a great time -- lots of scantily-clad, sprinting Santas, a cheering crowd and more than $13,000 raised for the Albany Damien Center.

There are many photos -- and some video -- after the jump.

First up, here's some video Sebastien shot:

Rob was near State Street by the turn and posted a photo set with a bunch of great shots from there. Here's one of them:

Many of these photos -- plus a whole bunch of others -- are also posted on AOA's Facebook page.

Thanks Sebastien and Rob!

Update! B's also posted a photo set.

I wish I had half the body confidence as these people. If I get up the nerve to show my ankles in public, it's a total scandal.

I like the phrase "first finisher" ... because in the Secret Santa Sprint, we were all winners!

Nothing's sexier than a big heart, a good sense of humor, and the ability to pull together a fierce ensemble. Clearly you were all champs! Way to go, kids!

I think this could the best way folks can protest the removal of bike lanes on Bedford Ave. in Brooklyn! Forget clown suits, guys!

Man that was a good time!

Thanks to everyone that came to support, run, donate....and generally be awesome.
All the pics and media that have been circulating is fantastic stuff. We're already looking forward to next year and rocking even harder.

I love that top/main photo!

Yup, that jump photo is the best I've seen, great capture Greg.

a little FYI, the dude in the jump pic with the Santa gear on is tanman, he's the fella that runs the Speedini company that graciously sponsored us by donating loads of Speedinis to the ASAP guys, he then flew in from Tanmanistan with another bag of Speedinis that he was just giving away at the event for folks to particiapate.
He rules the school.

btw, the first finisher was Jared Reynolds of Coeymans Hollow.....and we dont believe it timing the event.

Best time ever!!!!! Great day with great people raising money for a great cause!!!!

Nice - green man showed.

can someone explain the greed dude?

Thanks for the link guys, I added links to as many photos/videos of the event as I could find. As last year, it was a great day and a great cause. And people complain that nothing ever happens in Albany.

aw, that poor pug.

The green dude is Green Man, an iconic figure from the show "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" (which title music is in the first video). Good news, you don't even have to browse Japanese fetish web sites anymore (than usual), you can find Green Man costumes a bit everywhere.

For those that have not got their fill of Santa Speedo picts yet, here is a link to some more! Glad to see every angle of the race was covered. Great job to all the participants and supporters.

These guys are awesome! Rock on ASAP... ROCK ON!

Great photos and a fun day! What about a prize for the first girl to finish? I wanted to win a silver speedo!

OK so I'm late getting here, but it looks like Santa brought a few 'packages' early this year!

Say Something!

We'd really like you to take part in the conversation here at All Over Albany. But we do have a few rules here. Don't worry, they're easy. The first: be kind. The second: treat everyone else with the same respect you'd like to see in return. Cool? Great, post away. Comments are moderated so it might take a little while for your comment to show up. Thanks for being patient.
