What's important today?

Due to a hiccup this morning, there's no Morning Blend. But we thought this could also be an opportunity for a collaborative filtering of the headlines.

So... what did you see in today's news that you thought was important or interesting?  Post it in the comments with a link.

We'll start -- the TU reports that the the head of the Cap District says the membership campaign to save the Washington Ave is not off to a strong enough start.

Sounds nice and all, but I'll believe it when I see it...

The GL wrote a interesting expose on the dude who wants to challenge Gillibrand to a primary. http://www.nytimes.com/2010/01/13/nyregion/13ford.html?hp Turns out he's actually a covert Republican operative who was trained by Karl Rove and Tucker Carlson on an secret offshore military base used to test the effects of chemical weapons on cattle. Tupac's there too.

Haiti.

And Luna the dog.

Netflix will soon be available for the Nintendo Wii.

Haiti, Sarah Palin debuts on Fox News, David Paterson's son arrested, the NRA is here, Conan O'Brien...

Garland English, a local solider, died this weekend in a hiking accident in Hawaii. Matt wrote about on Friday Puppy.com and there was a Times Union article as well.

On a personal note, I randomly met Garland once, and he seemed like a really amazing person.

We'd really like you to take part in the conversation here at All Over Albany. But we do have a few rules here. Don't worry, they're easy. The first: be kind. The second: treat everyone else with the same respect you'd like to see in return. Cool? Great, post away. Comments are moderated so it might take a little while for your comment to show up. Thanks for being patient.
