A "purported article" in the New York Times? Uh, NYT, if anyone would know whether this article is "purported" or not would be... you.

"It has often been a self-feeding, self-referential frenzy" and now it's become even more so. Come on NYT, don't stop there - how about an article about the blog-buzz around this article about the purported article?
