Hello, WEXT
As Laura Glazer mentioned in the Record this week, her radio show Hello Pretty City is moving from WRPI to WEXT. Our friends at Exit 97.7 say they hope to have Laura up and running there sometime in March. Update: Be sure to read Laura's comment.

haven't listened to wrpi since I bought sirius 4 years ago.. but why the move? are the folks @ wrpi **still** trying to weed out community members?
all troy record interview could tell me was that she likes to take pictures, and doesn't eat gluten.
happy to read steve daub and kevin roberts are still there.

It's a scheduling issue that prompted the move.

I'm not sure about the specifics surrounding her situation, but as ex-president of WRPI and somebody still heavily involved with day-to-day operations, this move sort of came as a shock to us. There wasn't much advance warning on her part (I personally only found out about the move by seeing the article in The Record) but I can definitely say that there was zero effort on WRPI's part to try to eliminate any more members. That was an effort from another student administration that has since graduated in its entirety. Also, with regard to scheduling, Laura has had the 7-9am slot on Tuesdays long before I arrived at this school, and our program schedule is shaped every semester with a concerted effort toward keeping long-running shows in their traditional time slots, like with Hello Pretty City, Mostly Folk on Sundays, Stormy Monday Blues on (surprise) Monday nights, Tribute on Thursday nights, and many, many more. If she had wanted to shift her time slot to ensure her continued participation on our station, her request would have certainly been accommodated and given strong preference given her tenure on our schedule. On that note, if anybody has any WRPI-related questions/comments/concerns, I'd be more than happy to field them. My contact information is on my website.
All that aside, I can only offer my personal congratulations to Laura for finding a new venue for her program. Her contributions to our station will certainly be missed.

I guess what I have to say is a slightly shorter version of what Pete said...I'm a current active member of WRPI, will definitely miss Laura and her show and wish her the best of luck wherever she goes. Here's hoping she visits frequently!
Also, nobody's getting forced out of anything at WRPI.

Thank you for all of the good wishes!
As I wrote to the members of WRPI, being a part of the station is one of my favorite parts of my life in Albany. The students, community members, and listeners have always been kind and supportive to Hello Pretty City and to me. It will be hard leaving Tuesday mornings at WRPI but I hope to maintain my membership and fill-in for other djs at WRPI as needed, in addition to hosting Hello Pretty City on WEXT.
I had planned a farewell concert but the concert has turned into a celebration concert! Friday, March 5 at 8pm at Valentines. I look forward to meeting WRPI and WEXT listeners!

Hi Laura,
I love your show and I have not heard a tune from you that I didn't like. If only I could purchase CDs of your selections. You truly help make this city pretty. Lou.
