What's up in the Neighborhood

The NeighborhoodAmong the topics in this most recent spin around the Capital Region's online neighborhood: milk, an apple orchard, the TNL, 677 Prime, yellow chicken, menus, happy hour, heavenly soup, the Pine Bush, before and after, cheap gas, car detailing, bargains, and good from bad.

Laura wondered why snow makes people buy milk.

Mr. Dave stopped to admire an apple orchard in the snow.

Carey and Rob hit the TNL instead of the gym (but later... they knocked back some milk).

Celina had what sounds like quite the appetizer at 677 Prime.

Albany Jane ordered some very yellow chicken from the Afghan Grill.

Steve asked about "secret" off-menu dishes. (And we agree -- Steve needs his birthday boot.)

Melissa went to cupcake happy hour.

Daniel considered the effect of local critics on menus.

Jess is a fan of the gluten-free calamari at New World.

Lois had "absolutely heavenly" soup at Bloomers Bistro.

Dawn and her kids had a fun time at the Pine Bush Preserve Discovery Center.

Paula snapped a great before and after picture of the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception.

Dan says One Caroline is under appreciated. (And the spot for cheap gas is Milton.)

Kristi asked for recommendations about where to get her car detailed.

Bennett says Constitution Marsh in Garrison is "more awesome than I can describe."

Ashallan when looking for bargains at the Hollywood Video closeout.

CAPow snapped a great sign in Troy.

And Naomi got something good out of something bad.

The Scoop

For a decade All Over Albany was a place for interested and interesting people in New York's Capital Region. It was kind of like having a smart, savvy friend who could help you find out what's up. AOA stopped publishing at the end of 2018.

Albany tightened its rules for shoveling snowy sidewalks last winter -- so how'd that work out?

If winter ever gets its act together and drops more snow on us, there will be sidewalks to shovel. And shortly after that, Albany will... (more)
