Ah - a *proper* robin :) The little fellows were are the gardener's companion in the UK - they don't leave for the winter or return in the spring however. In the Mary Poppins film - based in London of course - they made a model of an American Robin and animated it for one scene - growing up I just assumed that they were rubbish at making models in keeping with Dick van Dyke's 'cockney' accent - but it was a good model, just the wrong bird. Now my daughter who spent the first four years of her life over there just said 'that robin looks strange' . Sigh.
