Buzzing for Phantogram

Sarah and Josh playing a show sponsored by IFC at SXSW.

Phantogram was one of the most buzzed-about bands during SXSW Music week, according a stats service called Next Big Sound. (NBS appears to track sites like MySpace and Facebook for plays and, uh, fan-ing.)

Also, USA Today's Whitney Matheson said one of Phantogram's shows at the festival was among the top 10 performances she saw this year (there was also something about a guy wearing a wolf's head). And Austinist said Phantogram was one of five bands "you have to see."

A few other bits: The LAT music blog talked with the Saratoga Springs duo about the recording of Eyelid Movies. And Sarah and Josh told Spinner that one of their musical guilty pleasures is Miley Cyrus' "Party in the USA."

Say Something!

We'd really like you to take part in the conversation here at All Over Albany. But we do have a few rules here. Don't worry, they're easy. The first: be kind. The second: treat everyone else with the same respect you'd like to see in return. Cool? Great, post away. Comments are moderated so it might take a little while for your comment to show up. Thanks for being patient.

Caporizzo, Lee, and Aisles. The premise of the show would be that Steve Caporizzo invents a machine that he thinks will predict the weather with 100% accuracy but goes haywire and winds up switching the brain of a grizzled Private Detective with the brain of a plucky, pound puppy named "Lee." Caporizzo and Lee the puppy then join forces to try and undo the brain switch whilst also solving mysteries at local Supermarkets.
