Rent-a-text
Coming to the UAlbany bookstore next fall: textbook rentals. The idea has apparently been gaining popularity over the last few years. Barnes and Nobel, which runs the UA bookstore, just started experimenting with the idea this past fall. Apparently there are also a handful of online services. Update: The Gazette reports that St. Rose's bookstore is also getting textbook rentals.
Say Something!
We'd really like you to take part in the conversation here at All Over Albany. But we do have a few rules here. Don't worry, they're easy. The first: be kind. The second: treat everyone else with the same respect you'd like to see in return. Cool? Great, post away. Comments are moderated so it might take a little while for your comment to show up. Thanks for being patient.

Long ago, at a university not so far away, there used to be at least a couple of copies of every required textbook in the library. If it was a class I knew I would never care about again would check one out before the semester ended and return it at the end of the class, paying the late fee, which would be a fraction of a percent of the cost of the book.
Just one more way to hack the system. :)
