What's up in the Neighborhood
Among the topics in this most recent spin around the Capital Region's online neighborhood: people who can't be pleased, high heels, tax day, dog meetups, Cafe Capriccio, cotton candy, a sushi buffet, a sunglasses-wearing cupcake, a breakfast burrito, yarn, Rensselaer, auto body shops and the Tang.

Help make Mechanicville look nice... People in Mechanicville have a lot of heart, and hopefully will respond to this positively. This is a town sitting on the shores of the Hudson River and it is due for a revival!
I just purchased property near the Bocce Ball courts (or as it is officially called, the "Padiglione Di Bocce") and I would like to start referring to this area as the Italian Cultural District of Mechanicville -- it give it a bit of 'panache' if we can get others to refer to it this way as well. Some people in the District ("The District" is how the locals should refer to it :)) take great care of their homes, while others do not because many of the properties are rentals.
I thought an easy, fun way to make The District look nicer would be if everyone planted sunflowers where they could be seen by passersby. Sunflower seeds are cheap and easy to grow... is anyone up for helping out by putting a few seeds in their soil? Maybe some 'guerilla' tactics, like planting them in places like near stop signs, or by the gazebo by the strip mall where Rite Aid is located?
Let's rally to the call and make Mechanicville and its Italian Cultural District a rgeat place to live!
