Parking ticket hot spot
Fox23 reports that Ryckman Avenue in Albany is a hot spot for parking tickets (more than 300 since Jan 2009) -- in large part because of the parking rules. So residents petitioned the city... and now the city's changing the rules. Earlier: Alternate parking grace period in Albany

We'd really like you to take part in the conversation here at All Over Albany. But we do have a few rules here. Don't worry, they're easy. The first: be kind. The second: treat everyone else with the same respect you'd like to see in return. Cool? Great, post away. Comments are moderated so it might take a little while for your comment to show up. Thanks for being patient.

Kudos to Fox for learning how to say Ryckman correctly. Also, if you're bored and I know you are, the guy the street was named for was quite the Albanian.

I lived in the area around Ryckman and the parking authority was ruthless. I received a ticket at 6:11 pm. What's most annoying about the Ryckman situation is that the road isn't a main thoroughfare, but a mostly backwater, neighborhood street. For the parking authority to countdown the minutes until 6 pm waiting to write tickets in a residential neighborhood is pathetic. How about writing tickets for the people double-parked on Central Ave or in Center Square for an hour or more?
