"It is what it is."
New York Now has posted a condensed version of today's public state leaders meeting about the budget. (You might say it's a package of "highlights," but somehow that word doesn't seem appropriate for New York State politics.)
The meeting kind of reminded us of a really uncomfortable family dinner where a few of the people argue over some longstanding grudge while everyone else stares at their plates and contemplates the mashed potatoes.
Oh, and David Paterson would like Scottie to beam him up.
It should all be good material for Ira Glass.

We'd really like you to take part in the conversation here at All Over Albany. But we do have a few rules here. Don't worry, they're easy. The first: be kind. The second: treat everyone else with the same respect you'd like to see in return. Cool? Great, post away. Comments are moderated so it might take a little while for your comment to show up. Thanks for being patient.

This is the caliber of people we have running the state. You'd think super powerful positions would attract super talented individuals. And this is New York, it's not like we don't have any. But no, these clowns are running the show, it's mind boggling.

Most of the super-talented people are wise enough too avoid getting involved with this nonsense. Unfortunately the folks we see here have an enormous impact on all of our lives, but somehow I don't think they remember (consider) that in day to day business.

Pathetic. It's like watching little kids fighting over who's turn it is to play in the sandbox.
