AH YAH

We went diving through YouTube this week after seeing @RangerDanger01 pop up on Twitter (it's like one AH YAH take after another). And there are plenty of clips for Rangeroos from the old Fox23 kids club bits.

Ranger Danger plays hockey (above). Ranger Danger prepares Thanksgiving dinner. Ranger Danger visits the library. Ranger Danger goes tobogganing. And there are a bunch more (they'll pop up on the side of those other clips).

By the way: Ranger Danger is still around. Gary Locatelli AKA Uncle Vito AKA Ranger Danger is a DJ on PYX 106. Here's a clip of him interviewing Ted Nugent earlier this month.

Update: There have been a few comments (not posted) about an urban legend regarding the origins of Ranger Danger. There's a Facebook post from Locatelli from a few years back addressing how he came to be the character.

Update 2: Ranger Danger, er... Gary Locatelli, stopped by in the comments:

Thanks for the article! A couple of things I would like to correct here though. The Twitter account is not me, although I am flattered. And I always spelled and signed my signature tag line "Ah Yeah". Also, if you want to connect with the real Ranger and see videos you can do it on his Facebook page @ http://tinyurl.com/Ranger-DangerFB

All Over Me, AH YAH

I had just been talking about Ranger Danger with a friend, and the next thing I know I get an email: RangerDanger01 is now following you on Twitter.

This is fantastic.

But I just wish RangerDanger01 would be more selective with his "AH YAH's". Plus, I always thought it was spelled "AY YAAAH"...

hahaha I loved Ranger Danger!!

Oh man I hated this guy with a passion as a kid.

Ranger Danger, you see what you started? There's an old friend I bump into every few years, the first words we say when this happens are, "AH YAH!" I don't even remember why we do it; were we stoned at 3 in the afternoon many years ago while watching Fox 23? It must look pretty stupid to a casual observer, but who cares, right?

Uncle Vito and Ranger Danger are the same person? Consider my mind blown.

Ranger Danger = Uncle Vito???? No kidding ... I never would have put that together!

Does anyone remember the wxxa cartoon bumper guy from the 80s BEFORE Ranger Danger?

Say Something!

We'd really like you to take part in the conversation here at All Over Albany. But we do have a few rules here. Don't worry, they're easy. The first: be kind. The second: treat everyone else with the same respect you'd like to see in return. Cool? Great, post away. Comments are moderated so it might take a little while for your comment to show up. Thanks for being patient.
