Tapas vs. pub

Steve reports that Angelo Mazzone and Matt Baumgartner have competing proposals to open new establishments at the Quackenbush House (the former Nicole's and Le Canard) in downtown Albany.

tapas is the new sushi/indian food in this area.

a proper british pub on the other hand sounds better.

As long as it is real spanish tapas, it won't be the "new" sushi. And if moderately priced, it would be AWESOME. An English Pub wouldn't be bad either.

I love the idea of the British pub, as long as it's done right and the food is good.

Tapas = covers. Andalusian/Spanish fishermen used small pieces of bread/meat to cover their glasses of sherry to keep pesky flying intruders out. Evolved into tapas as small plate type dishes. Similar to a piece of lime in a Corona.

The Scoop
