My Exit: Wendy McLaughlin

Tonight's My Exit D.J, Wendy McLaughlin

Every Monday night our friends at WEXT do this thing called My Exit -- local listeners get to come into the station and program an hour of music. So we thought it'd be fun to find out a little bit about these people and why they picked the songs on their play list.

Here's tonight's person:

Who?

Wendy McLaughlin. I am originally from Beekmantown, a small town north of Plattsburgh NY and only 13 minutes south of the Canadian (Quebec) border. I now live in southern Rensselaer county, almost Columbia. I have an amazing husband, two brilliant stepchildren and one wonderful stepson-in-law. My favorite hobby is photography, my photos have been seen at The Photography Center of the Capital District (Troy Photo Center) as well as a few other venues.

How would you describe your musical taste?

I like almost everything, depending on my mood. The main kind of music I like is Rock, mostly classic rock. I was raised with so many different kinds of music such as country, broadway, rock, disco (I'm was born in the 70's) and big band. It makes it easy to enjoy almost any kind of music.

5 songs from Wendy's My Exit show:

The Eagles
- Wasted Time
I was raised on the Eagles and I've lived this song many times.

Yes - Time and a Word (live in San Luis Obispo)
I cried the first time I heard this song because it is so beautiful.

Garth Brooks - The Dance
Because our lives are better left to chance, I could have missed the pain but I'd a had to miss, the dance. Another song I've lived.

The Future Ain't What It Used To Be - Pandora's Box
Writer/producer Jim Steinman's masterpiece.

Suspicious Minds
- Elvis
This song followed me around the country while on a family trip in 1991, great memories.

You can hear Wendy's My Exit show tonight at 8 on 97.7 or at exit977.org.

Yay! I'm so glad she got to do this! I'm sad I had to work and missed it though. I'll check the site and see if I can listen to it tomorrow.

Say Something!

We'd really like you to take part in the conversation here at All Over Albany. But we do have a few rules here. Don't worry, they're easy. The first: be kind. The second: treat everyone else with the same respect you'd like to see in return. Cool? Great, post away. Comments are moderated so it might take a little while for your comment to show up. Thanks for being patient.
