The Hellions of Troy roller derby has a zombies vs. vampires themed bout coming up this Saturday night. We have five pairs of tickets for "The Battle of the Undead" and we'd like to give them away -- maybe to you.

So, we're having a drawing. To enter, post an answer to this question in the comments:

What's your favorite vampire, zombie, monster, ghost or ghoul? (Or whatever in the vein.)

There's a big range here -- it could be everything from The Creature from Frankenstein to Angel from Buffy. We'll pick five winners at random from the posted comments.

First whistle for the bout is at 8 pm Saturday at the Rollarama in Schenectady. Tickets are $10 ahead of time, $12 at the door ($3 for kids under 12). The Hellions say fans are encouraged to come dressed up to root for their favorite side.

Important: One entry per person. You must answer the question to be entered. You must submit your comment by 8 pm Wednesday October 13. You must include a working email address (that you check regularly) with your comments. The winners will be notified by noon Thursday and must respond by 6 pm that day.

AOA is a media sponsor of the Hellions.

Hands down, FREDDY! There's no way to compare him to any other monster. You have to eventually sleep, and there he is, killing you then whipping out those zany one-liners. Gotta love him.

Cthulhu! He's a badass

nosferatu!

I would have to say that my favorite of favorites is vampire Bill Compton from True Blood. He's just a whole load of vampire sexy.

my favorite monsters are the vegetarian goblins in the movie troll 2 (which contains no trolls)!

Come on, Brad Pitt as Louis from Interview with the Vampire. I never thought that man was as attractive as every other woman in the world seemed to, but then I saw Interview (for the first time this year, I'm totally behind the times,) and I had to admit, that boy is PRETTY!

...Tom Cruise, still crazy though. Still crazy.

Karl Rove.

Alien, of course. Alien eats Freddy for breakfast, and washes it with a Cthulhu a la mode. Sharktopus close runner-up, but you can't trust a beast that hangs out with Eric Roberts.

I would have to say Bill Compton from True Blood as well. Best vampire show, ever.

Short hair version of Eric Northman from True Blood! He could suck my blood any day!!

Ooh. Tough choices.

The first to come to mind is Louis in Interview. But I'm also a big fan of Angel.

Both vampires with consciences. Probably not a coincidence.

Not in keeping with the topic, but Beware! the Other Head of Science is providing musical entertainment for the bout.

oh, and Pumpkin Head is my favorite monster if you were wondering.

Karen Cooper, the child zombie from 1968's "Night of the Living Dead." (shudder.)

The zombies from Shaun of the Dead

Ed, when he becomes a zombie in Sean of the Dead.

Best zombie ever.

I am sucker (pun intended) for the Christopher Lee Dracula via Hammer Films, specifically from the movie "The Scars of Dracula".

The Leprechaun from Leprechaun!

Dracula portrayed by Bela Lugosi

The zombie that comes out of the barrel in "Return of the Living Dead"

Lestat from Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicles. Best vampire ever. I actually named a cat after him once.

Zombie preist from Dead Alive. "I kick ass for the Lord!" lol

Howie Mandel in Little Monsters ..he looks like a gang bangin' Avatar!.. that lives under your bed!

the flying monkeys from the wizard of Oz. scared the heck out of me as a child!

crypt keeper from tales from the crypt!

Easy choice! Count count from sesame street

I'm gonna have to go with IT from Stephen King's movie. That wicked clown gave me terrible nightmares as a child!

bubba hotep! (is that spelled right?)

My favorite monster HAS to be the swamp monster from the 1982 movie Swamp Thing directed by Wes Craven. Nothing is better than watching a totally cheesy horror flick with some pop corn... and then sneaking into my roommates room late that night making squishy "RAWR" noises. Gotta love the creepy!

Say Something!

We'd really like you to take part in the conversation here at All Over Albany. But we do have a few rules here. Don't worry, they're easy. The first: be kind. The second: treat everyone else with the same respect you'd like to see in return. Cool? Great, post away. Comments are moderated so it might take a little while for your comment to show up. Thanks for being patient.
