If you ain't afraid of no ghosts, this drawing may be for you.

Earlier today we posted a few stories from Maeve McEneny's Albany Ghost Hunter Tour

The tour is being offered by the Albany Aqua Ducks from now through Halloween, and AOA has two pair of tickets to give away. To enter our Haunted Albany drawing, answer this question in the comment section below:

What is the scariest thing in the Capital Region?

Define scary however you want. It can be something spooky or ghoulish, or just something earthly that freaks you out.

Two people will win a pair of tickets. The deadline to enter is noon tomorrow (Friday, October 22nd).

Very, very important: One entry per person. You must answer the question to be eligible. You must post your comment by noon on Friday, October 22nd. You must include a working email address (that you check regularly) with your comment. The winners will be notified by email by 5PM on Friday, October 22nd -- and must respond by noon on Saturday, October 23rd. Tickets will be good for any public tour, but winners need to make their own reservations. Heads up -- some of the tours are already sold out.

Mayor Jennings's tan!

The scariest thing in the Capital Region to me (and it's probably just me) are the energy saving street lights when I'm walking on the sidewalk alone at night from the bus stop. I swear that the light nearest me goes out as soon as I walk by it! Spooky!

Albany Politics.

Clowns.

I don't care where on earth you are. If there are clowns present, they are the scariest things around. Period.

that creepy little cemetary off the northway between exit 4 and 2 headed south. it's about a dozen graves and they must be super-old because there doesn't appear to be a road to them. i always think i'm gonna see someone walking through it.

whenever Carl Paladino comes into town

The scariest thing in the Capital Region is the killer cat on my street. She brings home more "goodies" than any other cat I've seen.

Mayor Jerry Jennings' tan.

The Glenn Beck Live tour's upcoming stop at the Palace.

That people believed Kevin Marshall's Alive at Five lineup.

Riding my bike on Central Ave. and Albany High's graduation rate.

Jackers: I was going to say the same, but Fuller instead. Both are pretty intimidating for a lone cyclist. Wolf would beat both, but no one dares to attempt to ride it to find out.

I'm going to have to say UAlbany's change from a small campus obscured in woods to a paved monstrosity. The last remaining vestige of trees and nature is being knocked down to make way for a 500 student dorm and 300 car parking lot. Just what we need.

walking through washington park at night.

the scariest thing in the capital region: housing developments

Our options for the next governor

The roads. I'm always terrified the next pothole will be the last for my poor truck.

Pearl Street Party Scene between midnight and 4am is quite scary. Sends chills down my spine thinking about it.

All of the Construction going on at SUNY Albany!!!!

Cosmetic surgery which erases years of life and experience in exchange for smooth, expressionless skin. Yuck.

David Paterson

any fair outside of Albany, especially on demolition derby night

yeeeehawwww

the idea of Crossgates Mall expanding...

Ha - I knew the comments would be filled with political "scariness"

I do expect to see a rash of Carl Paladinos this year on Halloween!

As for me, there's a particular bus stop in downtown Troy which gives me the heebie jeebies.

Latham Circle Mall is very scary. (and kind of sad)

The scariest thing now is Albany city streets with all the violence, something need sto be done.

The Vale Cemetery in Schenectady. First of all, you can't drive through there without getting lost-- and, it's pretty scary being stuck in a cemetery; you start to think you'll never get out. Big Ben, the Parliament! Secondly, uh, have you ever seen really old, vine-laden tombstones, in a cryptic, misty, setting that's over 150 years old? Mkay!

I think the scariest thing about Albany, aside from Jenning's orange skin (which is truly dreadful), is the way people drive in that first snow storm of the year, and the rest of the snow season too, really. It comes every year people, you know it does, you all should be used to it by now!!

The idea of another try at a parking plan for downtown Albany.

Taxes!

the number of prisons in upstate NY

The housing prices in Saratoga Springs

Scariest thing in the capital region are the thunderstorms and major weather changes we get. Below zero, above hundred.

Latham Mall is a good one.

Pine Woods Cemetery in Troy

Monday nights in Center Square, when the can people come from lord knows where with their shopping carts. You can hear them coming....rattle, rattle... as they push their carts up the sidewalks looking for your cans!

Seriously though, I've always found Forest Park Cemetery in Troy and Vale Cemetery in Schenectady to be some seriously spooky places. There was also this old house at the intersection of Krumkill and Schoolhouse that we used to go to as kids. Huge old scary house with all sorts of stories of evilness. It's gone now, but I still think of it when I go by. Does anyone else know of this house?

Say Something!

We'd really like you to take part in the conversation here at All Over Albany. But we do have a few rules here. Don't worry, they're easy. The first: be kind. The second: treat everyone else with the same respect you'd like to see in return. Cool? Great, post away. Comments are moderated so it might take a little while for your comment to show up. Thanks for being patient.
