What's up in the Neighborhood

The NeighborhoodAmong the topics in this most recent spin around the Capital Region's online neighborhood: the "Albany Left Turn," a Saratoga wedding, the Pine Bush, Hudson, shopping, not shopping, fried chicken, $1 pizza, a cranberry bog, Jimmy Fallon, history, and the backup patron saint of cats.

Daniel Nester examined the Albany Left Turn.

Fun in Saratoga Dan got married! It sounds like his wedding was very Saratoga.

Bennett went for a walk in the Pine Bush.

Sebastien spent a day in Hudson with some friends.

Silvia also visited Hudson -- and had lunch at Swoon Kitchen Bar.

Naomi asked people if they would be shopping on Friday -- or making sure to do anything but.

Kristi's collecting day-after-Thanksgiving shopping news on Twitter.

Jerry had some "outstanding" chicken and "amazing" sweet potatoes at Hattie's.

Albany Jane scored a $1 pizza slices.

The Exile had good food -- but a frustrating experience -- at Blue Spice in Colonie.

Steve asked people for their thoughts on the Pride of New York Harvest Fest.

Daniel B is considering a Tour de Hot Dog.

Jen came across a cranberry bog... at the Fresh Market.

Carey and Rob made a stop at The Fireplace on Route 17 (if you've ever driven up Route 17 in northern Jersey, you've seen this place).

Michelle's hoping Jimmy Fallon will crash her birthday party.

Paula told the story of Sophie High Dog, who's buried in Albany Rural Cemetery.

Chuck donated archival materials from the former Harriet Gibbons High School to the Albany Institute of History and Art.

Jackie went to a warming hut warming.

And Rob nominated his wife -- Ann of Glenmont -- as the backup patron saint of cats.

Comments

Along with this week's "Thanks" for linking my article, I will say that I am very pleased that my adjectives are getting directly quoted. It's keeping me up to date and on my toes to come up with some descriptive terms to describe my experiences!

Thanks again guys!

Thanks as always, I hope I don't overdo it on "here's somewhere to walk around outdoors!" posts but a) I love walking around outdoors and b) it's physically impossible for me not to bring a camera when I do that. Seriously, first this rash starts and then there's the dry-heaving...

Anyway, why I'm really commenting is because SIlvia's link seems to be incorrect. Not to tell you about my bile. At all.

Editors: Thanks for the heads-up on the link! It's fixed.

Say Something!

We'd really like you to take part in the conversation here at All Over Albany. But we do have a few rules here. Don't worry, they're easy. The first: be kind. The second: treat everyone else with the same respect you'd like to see in return. Cool? Great, post away. Comments are moderated so it might take a little while for your comment to show up. Thanks for being patient.
