KG on DADT
Kirsten Gillibrand in a piece at HuffPo today about why she's pushing for repeal of Don't Ask, Don't Tell: "We simply can not lose one more brave man or woman to this destructive policy. It is immoral, it is discriminatory, and at a time when we are fighting two wars abroad and need all of our best and brightest serving, it hurts our military readiness." A Pentagon study released today concluded that "the risk of repeal for Don't Ask, Don't tell to overall military effectiveness is low." [NYT]
