UAlbany's decision to suspend a handful of its majors in foreign language continues to get media attention, this time in NYT (it was the highlighted story on the front of NYT's website last night). The story doesn't include much that's new, but it does put UAlbany's decision in a wider context.

Huh. This has happened before...I withdrew my application from SUNY Albany when it announced drastic cuts to my desired major (Russian studies) way back in Cold War days.
