Wrong city

You know that photo of row houses used in the banner on Troy's website and in other identity? As Chris Churchill found out -- it's not from Troy. Update: Harry Tutunjian says he's "gravely concerned" by the matter and says it will be corrected. Update 2: The photo's already been changed -- here's the old version. That is hilarious. And kind of sad. But mostly hilarious.

But they *could* be from Troy. :)

Not surprised here. For several years now the rotating banners at the Albany airport have had a "Welcome to Albany" sign that is a field of bluebonnets (TX state flower, doesn't even grow here) in a field out in Albany, TEXAS. Mesquite trees and all. Google images fail at the ad agency.

I would have rather the mayor say "WOOPS!" and get played off by Keyboard Cat than say he's "gravely concerned".

Just change the photo and chuckle about how no one noticed because no one goes to the Troy website. Problem SOLVED.

Here is a photo of the Albany, TX field of bluebonnets welcoming people to the Albany, NY airport in baggage claim.

The header's been changed already. Here's the old header:

Have they changed the photo? The one now shows a carriage and people in the streets.

If I were *actually* Supreme Ruler of Troy, heads would rolllllll, let me tell you! Wooooo!

I'm pretty ticked off at this idiot PR company, L&P Media, who used the image. It's embarrassing because anyone who knows Troy knows that we have plenty of our own beautiful architecture, we didn't need to borrow Boston's. AOA knows, anyone mocking Troy runs the risk of getting stabbed by me.

@kimmieoftroy: That's one of the funny things about this -- it's not like Troy is lacking for photo-worthy buildings. I mean, you could walk down most of the streets in downtown Troy and snap a photo like that.

It's just... odd.

@Greg: That's why I'm so mad, it's not logical! Kimmie SMASH!!

Would love to see what amazing shots people like Sebastien B. have of Troy streetcapes. I'm sure they would blow the Boston shot out of the water.

The Scoop

For a decade All Over Albany was a place for interested and interesting people in New York's Capital Region. It was kind of like having a smart, savvy friend who could help you find out what's up. AOA stopped publishing at the end of 2018.
