Brewing the news

The Journal Register Company, which owns the Troy Record and the Saratogian, has been getting a lot of attention lately for its turn toward all things digital -- and the "Newsroom Cafe" it opened at a paper in northwest Connecticut, at which people can walk in off the street for coffee, pastries and conversation with the journalists. Incidentally, AOA also has a newsroom cafe -- it's called Uncommon Grounds.

WAMC was talking about this very subject on The Media Project the other day. It seems that national news organizations are doing this as well across the country.
