Tickets for the music of ABBA with ARRIVAL at Troy Savings Bank Music Hall

ARRIVAL from Sweden ABBA tribute

Congrats to Jessica R, she won the tickets!
____

The Troy Savings Bank Music Hall has what could be a fun a show coming up this Friday: The Music of ABBA with ARRIVAL From Sweden. From the blurb:

This high energy group faithfully recreates all of ABBA's greatest hits, with a full backing band that includes original ABBA musician Mike Watson on bass. They tell stories about ABBA and everyone performs in copies of the original costumes. The performers are so identical to the original group that you'll believe it's really ABBA on stage!

And we have a pair of tickets to give away. Maybe to you.

To enter the drawing, submit a comment answering this question:

What's cheesy (in a good way)?

We'll pick one winner at random from the comments.

ARRIVAL's ABBA "experience" is Friday at 8 pm. Tickets start at $20.

Important: One winner will get a pair of tickets. You must answer the question to be entered in the drawing. You must submit your comment by 11:59 pm on Monday January 10, 2011. One entry per person, please. You must include a working email address (that you check regularly) with your comment. Winners will be notified by noon on Tuesday and must respond by 9 am on Wednesday.

Yep, the Troy Savings Bank Music Hall advertises on AOA.

The music of ABBA is cheesy in a good way and is a simple pleasure of mine!

Pretty much all the food sold at theme parks is so bad, it's good! Your taste buds will celebrate, but your stomach and your intestines will rise up as one and lead a glorious internal revolution against your ass for swallowing that grease-drenched corndog.

But, of course, you'll do it again next year, without a second thought. :-p

Sounds like fun imported straight from Sweden

Going to see a tribute band of a tribute band

disco fries from bombers!

Me.

Really.

Musicals! Sometimes I wish people in real life would just break out into song...

Grown women swooning over the New Kids on The Block.... that is cheesy but funny when one of them is your wife.

Musicals that use already written/recorded songs rather than original material are cheesy, and in a good way only if performed well.

I love a capella music, but it is super cheesy. Goofy choreography, matching outfits -- the cheesiness is what makes it so awesome.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer (I don't even think it is cheesy, but a lot of other people seem to). I miss that show. :(

ABBA.
Tribute bands to ABBA.
Any Tribute band, really.

PS -I looooove ABBA, and would really love to win these tickets!!

Cheesy is when someone sings or hums a song that you really don't like...and for the rest of the day you sing that song to yourself!

The 70's, the 80's - but not the 60's curiously - what will be saying about this decade in 20/30 years I wonder?

So looking at the previous comments the musical episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer should score pretty high on the cheese factor.

My vote - old Godzilla movies.

It's a Wonderful Life

Pizza.

Cheesy...an entire musical that is basic around ABBA music...ABBA a guilty pleasure I am brave enough to admit!

Cheesy is Anni-Frid's solo album 'Frida Ensam" where she covers David Bowie and Sondheim, but I love it anyway.

Thank you so much for the tickets!!

Staying in the past and raving everything was better back then. Thats Cheesy :)

Say Something!

We'd really like you to take part in the conversation here at All Over Albany. But we do have a few rules here. Don't worry, they're easy. The first: be kind. The second: treat everyone else with the same respect you'd like to see in return. Cool? Great, post away. Comments are moderated so it might take a little while for your comment to show up. Thanks for being patient.
