What's up in the Neighborhood

The NeighborhoodAmong the topics in this most recent spin around the Capital Region's online neighborhood: Albany cabs, the frozen Hudson, brunch, an A+, jambalaya, doggy style, pumpernickel, a perfect gut bomb, cheesecake obsession, karaoke, pod people, a bloody corpse, and option D.

Daniel Nester shared "an actual Positive [Albany] Cab Story, even a Life-Affirming one."

The Exile took an unexpected opportunity to admire the frozen Hudson.

FiS Dan had a lot of Saratoga thoughts.

Crystal had a "delicious" omelet while brunching at the Iron Gate Cafe.

Jen gave Athos an A+.

One of Steve's readers asked about finding a good local spot for jambalaya.

Mr. Dave considered doggy style while lunching in Troy.

C2C had "tasty sweet potato coconut something soup" at Debbie's Kitchen (also, there was a "pumpernickel!!!" sighting).

Rochelle wasn't disappointed with her first Cooking the Tree of Life event -- well, except maybe for missing out on the pork belly.

Daniel B says the buffalo chicken pizza at Pizza Central is perfect in "a greasy, gut-bomb, perfect kind of way."

Silvia has become obsessed with Cheesecake Machismo.

Jerry went for karaoke at Muddy's in Watervliet.

Kristi has pod people on her street.

Jackie got up close with a bloody corpse.

And Chuck chose "Option D" outside the not-yet-open Hobby Lobby in Latham.

Comments

I agree with Daniel B. Pizza Central is yummy in a greasy-crunchy kind of way.

Ohhh, I should've thought to call them Pod People. Oy.

(Thank you for the link.)

Thanks for the add, Greg and Mary... I'm beginning to like this "Option D" concept.

Thanks guys! (FiS Dan's link is missing) :-)

@derryX Got it fixed. Thanks!

Just came back from Pizza Central on a recon mission. It turns out they changed their recipe on the Buffalo chicken pizza. Now, to get the one that made me so excited in the first place, you have to ask for it with fried chicken, otherwise it will just be unbreaded chunks of breast meat.

The upside is that you can still get this gut-tacular delight if you call ahead. The downside is that it's no longer available by the slice.

I hate change.

Say Something!

The second: treat everyone else with the same respect you'd like to see in return. Cool? Great, post away. Comments are moderated so it might take a little while for your comment to show up. Thanks for being patient.
