Rack 'em up

There are a just a few days left for non-profits and businesses to apply for a free or half-price bike rack from CDTA (deadline is 5 pm Friday). Skimming through the catalog of available options, we kind of like the Helix and the Mad Biker.

This is a great opportunity for many communities. Our high school finally put in a bike rack (after much urging by yours truly) as a result of this program last year. Unfortunately, this year I found out about it today, same as you, so there's not much time for folks to sign up.

Yeah, the timing on this was just awful. I only found out about this yesterday and have been kind of scrambling to inform people. We (ABC) asked them to extend the deadline, but they could not.

More bike racks around the city means more opportunities to commute by bike. Any business that does not take advantage of this is really missing out.

Some of these are pretty fun, and I'd love to see more bike racks around. But - and I may just be dense - I don't think I would realize I'm allowed to hitch my bike to most of those... let alone be able to figure out how.

The Scoop

For a decade All Over Albany was a place for interested and interesting people in New York's Capital Region. It was kind of like having a smart, savvy friend who could help you find out what's up. AOA stopped publishing at the end of 2018.
