A few quick musical notes

railbird profile picThey go like this...

+ Railbird announced today they're playing the Roots Picnic this June in Philadelphia -- it's a one-day festival curated by The Roots (surprise). It looks like they'll be in good -- and interesting -- company: the top of the bill includes Nas, Wiz Khalifa and Esperanza Spalding. Railbird just released a new album, No One. You can catch them live at Putnam Den in Saratoga this Friday.

+ There's a longer lineup now out for the Solid Sound Festival, the festival at MASS MoCA curated (there's that word again) by Wilco. The only tickets left are the full-price three day pass ($124.50).

+ Phantogram is currently one of mtvU's "Freshman Five", "up and coming artists who have captured our attention" -- and you can vote for their "When I'm Small" video. We're not sure what they get if they win. Perhaps just the admiration and continued attention of mtvU.

Editors: Erp. Fixed. Thanks.

I love Railbird. The lead singer has the most amazing voice.... she is pretty wild and creative in her dress, voice, and presentation on stage... a true local success.
