Guilty plea
An end of sorts has come to a domestic violence case that helped upend the governorship of David Paterson. In a plea deal, Paterson's former aide, David Johnson, admitted to a count of harassment in connection with a 2009 incident in which Johnson's former girlfriend said he grabbed and threatened her. Reports that Paterson had contacted the woman after the incident contributed to the governor's decision not to run for re-election. Paterson was cleared of wrongdoing, but an independent counsel last year did say he made "errors in judgment." [WSJ] [NYT] [AOA]
