An icy walk at dusk

Ice Walk Dusk

By Liz Clancy Lerner

I may have cursed the frozen rain as it fell Sunday night, and the snow as it covered the ground yesterday morning, but once the sun came out I was praising the beauty of what was left behind.

I took a walk along the Mohawk-Hudson Bike-Hike trail and the Mohawk River State Park in Niskayuna to photograph the remnants of our recent wintry mix.

The view from my south facing window as the sun was shining through a group of trees yesterday afternoon was indeed spectacular---BUT enough already!

I'm more than ready for some tulips.

Lost of great icy photos on flickr! Seb of course has several more, plus ruperthemoose has a couple, skippymarv has a nice (film) shot, JMiddleton17 has a great set from Buckingham Pond, and I saw a few from Jessie Han, toyfoto, and musicnartblue.

Probably a few I'm missing. But my contact list looked like an icy wasteland this morning...

Great shots! What are you shooting with?

Your photos make me want to go on icy walks. (Not really) But your photos actually make me appreciate the beauty of icy walks.
Another great feature/photos.

Thanks Carol! I have a Canon Rebel T1i

Beautiful photos. Well done.
