Ice cream stands in bloom

kurver_kreme_with_cone.jpgThe snow is melting. The crocuses (croci?) are popping up. And "open" signs are turning over at local ice cream stands.

Kurver Kreme opens for the season today. The Snowman in Troy opened last week. And the Tastee Freeze in Bethlehem opened recently.

Spring may be really be happening.

Also: If you wear green at Stewart's today, you can get a single scoop ice cream cone for 50 cents. The chain is expecting sell more than 150,000 50-cent cones today, thanks in part to the nice weather forecast.

Martha's in Lake George (across the road from the Great Escape) opens Saturday!

Sis, and i went to Kurver Kreme for the first time this season on Friday.
We each had a hot dog, and i had a kiddie size, soft chocolate cone, with chocolate sprinkles.
There was a mom, pop, and daughter there with their Rotweiler puppy.
He looked so adorable. Like a stuffed toy! The mom said they expected him to add 100 more pounds to his already gained 20.
He was a big hit with the ice cream crowd!
Can't wait for more visits to this are sweet treasure on Central ave!
