Unlucky

A deli owner says the pool of state employees that bought the winning $319 million Mega Millions jackpot ticket at Coulson's in downtown Albany usually included one more person -- but he sat out that week because "he wasn't feeling lucky." Update: ABC News is apparently doing a profile of the guy who missed out. [NY Post via @ps_saratoga] [@@briantaff6abc via @MikeBucc]

that dude might be dead now. someone should check.

link is bad

That's rough...

Why the link to "Grant will pay to preserve early Edison recording" though?

@Ron, AlbanyNick: Copy/paste fail. Fixed. Thanks.

Let's check back in five years and see how the winners did before we call him unlucky...

I hope the winners throw him a bone.

It's such a small group and it seems he was a regular. I'm not saying give him a full share, but something...

Or perhaps that's why the other six finally won.

Wow.

Would buying them a beer after that be an insult?

I work with these people. A guy who helped move my computer stuff a few months back might be the one who sat out, because he works in that office, but is not among The Sevens' names. Poor guy.

FYI, no one has shown up for work in that office, still. Not even their co-workers, I believe.

Turns out the guy is clairvoyant...he isn't lucky.

The Scoop

For a decade All Over Albany was a place for interested and interesting people in New York's Capital Region. It was kind of like having a smart, savvy friend who could help you find out what's up. AOA stopped publishing at the end of 2018.
