Three weekend shootings in Albany, Cuomo's political role model is Bill not Mario, local colleges report record-high application totals

Police say there were three shootings in Albany over the weekend. The APD says a man was shot while entering his West Hill home Saturday night -- they say he's not cooperating with the investigation (map). Early Sunday morning, the APD says a man and woman were assaulted/robbed on the street in the West End neighborhood (map) -- and the man shot in the head, though the wound was not life threatening. The Saratoga County sheriff's office says a woman reported that man tried to sexually assault her on a a path at the Vischer Ferry nature preserve. They say she was able to fight off the attacker. A police search on foot and by helicopter of the area didn't turn up a suspect. [YNN] [CBS6] [WNYT]

Schenectady police say a bullet flew through threw the window of a home in Hamilton Hill Saturday evening. map). The shooting was reportedly captured on video. [Fox23] [CBS6]

Glenville police say a man has been charged with unlawful imprisonment after he allegedly held a woman against her will and kissed her at a laundromat. They say the man was arrested eight days later when he was found hiding in a closet. [WTEN] [TU]

The Troy Police Department says it's investigating an alleged incident in which, according to "sources," a TPD sergeant passed over for promotion allegedly confronted the mother of the officer who did get the promotion Saturday night at Red Front. [Troy Record]

The Dunn Memorial Bridge was closed for a short time this weekend after police say a man crashed his motorcycle doing wheelies across the bridge. [WTEN]

State Police say an Argyle woman has been charged with impersonating a veterinarian after she allegedly botched the neutering of a dog (and before that, a cat). [TU]
