Calendars and official dates aside, we don't really consider spring to have officially begun until the magnolias bloom. Yesterday, the pink buds sat expectantly on the branches, still wrapped.

Still waiting for the magnolia tree in front of my apartment to show any sign of life. It was beauuuutiful last spring. Too bad the blooms don't last long, though. A week after they open, the petals are all over the lawn.
