Girls and power tools

Emma Willard will be hosting what looks like a fun/interesting program: Rosie's Girls, a summer day camp for 7th to 9th grade girls about carpentry and other trades. From the blurbage: "Imagine a summer spent welding, learning how to change a tire (and the oil in her car), how to build things using power tools, firefighting and automotive technology - along with traditional camp activities like the arts and sports." The camp is based on a program that started in Vermont.

Really wish there was a camp like this for adult women. Someone recently taught me how to put air my in my tires. I'm 31 years old. It's quite embarrassing. Certainly if I had a daughter I'd send her to this instead of princess camp.

(I wish they had something like this for adults too)

I would love to go to this! Too bad 9th grade was a long time ago for me.

The Scoop

For a decade All Over Albany was a place for interested and interesting people in New York's Capital Region. It was kind of like having a smart, savvy friend who could help you find out what's up. AOA stopped publishing at the end of 2018.

Albany tightened its rules for shoveling snowy sidewalks last winter -- so how'd that work out?
