My Exit: Barbara Kaiser

WEXT's My Exit is back. Every Monday night local listeners get to come into the station and program an hour of music. We thought it'd be fun to find out a little bit about these people and why they picked the songs on their play list.

And tonight's My Exit comes with a side of vegetables.

Who:
I'm Barbara Kaiser. I had been a long time Jazz DJ on WRPI. I also write and perform. I wrote a one-woman show called "Locked in the Ladies Room" which played at the Arts Center in Troy and at Cafe LaMaMa in NYC. I am currently reworking the show and looking for another DJ gig.

A few songs from Barbara's My Exit show:

Tierney Sutton, one of the finest jazz singers alive, performing "My Favorite Things".

Nancy Kelly from near Buffalo singing "Since I Fell for You" because she is a powerhouse singer who should be more widely known.

Ondine Dacyl, a fabulous singer, performs "Besame Mucho."

Paul Shapiro, a genius musician, plays "To Life" from Fiddler on the Roof.

Dave's True Story, because they are a truly great band, playing "Sequined Mermaid Dress."

I end with the Vienna Vegetable Orchestra , who recently appeared at Proctors. They have a member of the orchestra with my name.

You can hear Barbara's My Exit show tonight at 8 on 97.7 or at exit977.org.

Here's how to schedule your own My Exit show on WEXT.
