River Street Festival photos 2011

Thanks, Casey!

That's Casey above -- she created AOA's sponsored entry in the Troy River Street Festival's street painting contest this past weekend. It's a bird sitting on the Egg. Heh.

Thanks to Sebastien for the photo -- here's a set with more of his photos from the festival. And Bennett's posted a lot of good photos of the street painting artists creating their panels.

There are a bunch of other photos from the street painting contest after the jump. There were a lot of good entries this year.

This entry, by Brian Barker, won first place in the adult category:

We had a great time at the festival. And I loved watching the chalk artists. I'm sure their hands were covered in cuts and blisters after rubbing and blending the colors together on the concrete.

Anyone else see the tiny anti-frackers on River Street? Or do I need to make an appointment to see a shrink?

I tried to find the AOA sponsored panel, but never found it; what building was it in front of?

Great turn out this year at the festival. I also learned that the Troy PD are very friendly folks.

More specifically, it appears to be an Eastern Bluebird, the New York State bird, sitting on the Egg. Nice one, Casey! Thanks for the link.

@abby- no cuts or blisters here- but I did have some awesome blue/green nail dirt all day and an aching thigh (left to match my left-handedness)

@colleen- I was square 12, in front of some tax/insurance business (277 or 276 river street, I think)

@B- It was great meeting you guys, and kudos for recognizing the state bird. I bet you got gold stars in elementary school ;). Great photos too!

Say Something!

We'd really like you to take part in the conversation here at All Over Albany. But we do have a few rules here. Don't worry, they're easy. The first: be kind. The second: treat everyone else with the same respect you'd like to see in return. Cool? Great, post away. Comments are moderated so it might take a little while for your comment to show up. Thanks for being patient.
