Galling, for bears
Among the bills that have been moving through the legislature here at session's end: a bill that prohibits "possession, sale, barter, offer, purchase, transportation, delivery, or receipt of bear gallbladder, bile, or any product, item, or substance containing, or labeled or advertised as containing, bear gallbladders or bile." New York is currently one of five states that doesn't prohibit the sale of bear parts. [NYDN]
