Finally, the discount we've been waiting for

living social screengrab botox discount 2011-06-24We've generally steered clear of the group discount sites that have spread into the region over the last year. Maybe it's all the hype, or not really being interested in saving $15 on $30 at a place we'd probably never eat.

But today, well, we finally realized just how foolish we've been. The current Living Social deal for the Capital Region: 20 units of botox for $150. Wrinkle filler for $400. Or "laser liposuction" for $1000.

Thank goodness! Because when we inject botulinum toxin into our face, we never pay retail.

(On a side note: that's the screengrab from Living Social on the right. Despite the photo it doesn't mention any discounts on "augmentation." It would seem that would (un)naturally lend itself to a buy one, get one free offer.)

That's funny. However, some of them are great. Groupon recently had one that was $4 movie tickets from Fandango, no restrictions. My hubby and I saw our flick in its opening week. I also bought a $50 coupon at Jack's Oyster House for $25 from CrowdSavings.

Yeah, generally I'm a huge fan (except that I end up spending more money than I need to...), but this one just pissed me off...

BUY botox? Forget retail, you need to get it locally cultured if you want the good stuff. It's a whole offshoot of the locavore movement. (It promises to give whole new meaning to "local anesthetic".)

The Scoop

For a decade All Over Albany was a place for interested and interesting people in New York's Capital Region. It was kind of like having a smart, savvy friend who could help you find out what's up. AOA stopped publishing at the end of 2018.
