The color of Albany
There's a site called the "The Color Of," which pulls photos from Flickr and combines them to determine the "color" of something. So we plugged in "albany, ny."
It kind of has a nice impressionistic vibe going for it. And if you lean back, you can sort of see what looks like the ESP.
This idea reminds us of research done about 10 years ago to determine the color of the universe. (It's beige.)

Say Something!
We'd really like you to take part in the conversation here at All Over Albany. But we do have a few rules here. Don't worry, they're easy. The first: be kind. The second: treat everyone else with the same respect you'd like to see in return. Cool? Great, post away. Comments are moderated so it might take a little while for your comment to show up. Thanks for being patient.

Worth checking out the site, they link to the photos themselves so you can see what they're pulling from... very interesting and cool use of the flickr API.

Would be interesting to see other Capt-Dist cities in here... or some landmarks like ESP, Thacher Park, or the different schools.

Jessica, the site simply searches flickr titles, tags, and captions for whatever text you enter. You can search for whatever you like!

I don't know if I wanted to make this or if I was compelled to do it. But either way, I couldn't resist the impulse.

I've spent way too much time playing with this. Some of my favorites:
rose colored glasses
rainbows
lightning
spiderman
iris

Yeah, "your mom" was both under- and overwhelming.
"m42" has been my favorite so far.
