Heat Miser.jpg

He's too much.

Sunscreen, popsicles and gallons of iced tea. Because, you know, the Capital Region is hot.

Know what else is hot? Yep, the AOA advertisers below. If you've got something to advertise, do it on AOA. Contact us at advertising@alloveralbany.com and we can get you started.

Meanwhile here's who made your AOA fix possible this week:

Stuff to Do

+ The Philadelphia Orchestra opens next week at SPAC. Guests include David Hyde Pierce, Branford Marsalis and Yo Yo Ma. They're also doing a screening of Casablanca with live orchestral accompaniment.

+ Boy, boy, crazy boy -- West Side Story is coming to Proctors August 16-21.

Food and Drink

+ Capital Wine on State and Lark in Albany. They've got tastings every Friday night, so stop by on your way out to dinner. And they've got great tips on wine and food pairings.

+ New World Bistro Bar launches its new Wines By The Glass list this weekend. New items include a Gruner Veltlliner and Chenin-Blanc Viognier, perfect cool whites to help beat the heat. New half bottle selections and a gluten-free beer have also been added to the list.

+ The Wine Bar and Bistro on Lark is now offering a five-course tasting menu with seatings at 6 and 9 Tuesday-Saturday. You'll need to make a reservation for those.

+ Enjoy great food and music on the patio at Taste.

+ Stop in at The Point for dinner on the patio or in the "Don Draper Room."

+ It's barbecue season! Be sure to pick up some Bilinski's chicken sausage for the grill.

+ Stop by and pick up some seasonal deliciousness at Honest Weight Food Co-op.

Helpful stuff

+ Sunmark Federal Credit Union gave a $1,500 startup grant to the Radix Center. A Sunmark loan could help you fund your good idea.

+ Best Cleaners gave two people a great new look in the AOA/Best refresh contest. To help you refresh your wardrobe, they'll pick up and deliver your dry cleaning to your home or office at no extra charge.

+ Need a lawyer? DiFabio Law Firm is friendly, helpful and will get the job done. They handle real estate, wills, elder law, vehicle and traffic law and more.

The Scoop

For a decade All Over Albany was a place for interested and interesting people in New York's Capital Region. It was kind of like having a smart, savvy friend who could help you find out what's up. AOA stopped publishing at the end of 2018.
