Where urban agriculture plants, legal questions grow
There's interesting background on the history of zoning from Albany Law professor Patricia Salkin in this ABA Journal article about the rise of urban agriculture and some of the legal issues prompted by it. Commenting that many zoning practices led to sprawl, Salkin says: "Now there's a movement back to mixed-use development, and the recognition that there are a lot of [land uses] that are compatible that we used to think were incompatible."
