ESP food festival

The Empire State Plaza Food Festival is today at the ESP (obviously). More than 50 vendors serving for lunch and dinner. Also: music -- including headliner Eddie Money -- all day.

Am I the only one that finds it strange that these kinds of events are on a weekday? I mean, I'd love to check out this type of thing, but can't exactly bail from work at noon. Yes, I realize I could go after work for the evening portion, but still seems odd to me.
