The Big Lebowski is coming to Proctors
The Big Lebowski will be shown next month as part of Proctors Theater's It Came From Schenectady series, and we're guessing it's going to be good time.
The cult status of the film continues to grow, to the point where showings of The Big Lebowski are in the same vein as The Rocky Horror Picture Show, with audience members dressing up as characters and shouting out the many memorable lines. There are also regular gatherings of Lebowski-heads and just last week, the New York delegation of the Lebowski Fest was held in a bowling alley in Manhattan.
Paul from Proctors says that, in addition to the movie, the event will include some prizes, film shorts and, of course, White Russians.
Which character from the movie would you dress up as? Do you abide, like the Dude, do you refuse to roll on Shabbos like Walter or do you "believe in nuzzing" like the Nihilists? Or maybe you've (for shame) never seen the movie and still think that V. I. Lenin is the guy who wrote "I Am the Walrus."
Say Something!
We'd really like you to take part in the conversation here at All Over Albany. But we do have a few rules here. Don't worry, they're easy. The first: be kind. The second: treat everyone else with the same respect you'd like to see in return. Cool? Great, post away. Comments are moderated so it might take a little while for your comment to show up. Thanks for being patient.

Terrific news! I can't wait. Gonna have to get me a horned helmet, I guess! Loved their previous events. "The Room" was a particular blast. Also looking forward to their all day movie marathon in October, which I read about on their facebook page.

I just got the Blu Ray, and there's a special feature covering similar events on a national scale. It seems like it would be lots of fun to go to something like this.

I'll be there with bells on. And dressed up as Maude in one of her clothed incarnations.
