Shredding

shredded paper thumbnailPrompted by a "tremendous response" from residents, the city of Albany is holding a document shredding day at the Washington Park Lakehouse this Saturday (October 22), from 1-4 pm. It's free. There's a three boxes/bag limit per person. They'll also be collecting books for recycling (but, alas, not shredding). Press release pasted after the jump.

Mayor Jennings and Commissioner D'Antonio Announce Free Paper Shredding and Book Recycling Event
Due to the tremendous response by our residents, once again this fall, the Department of General Services is sponsoring a Free Paper Shredding event for city residents. Additionally, we will be collecting hard and soft cover books to be recycled.
NOTE: Books will not be shredded.
Where: Washington Park Lakehouse (enter on the Madison Avenue side)
Date: Saturday, October, 22, 2011
Time: 1:00pm to 4:00pm
Residents should bring documents that need shredding to the Washington Park site. This event is for personal papers and documents only, no commercial please. Limit 3 boxes/bags. Shredding services provided by 3N Document Destruction.
