Woman who drove into river died of heart attack, student injured in bike accident wasn't wearing helmet, veterans finally receive medals

An autopsy revealed that an 84-year-old woman who was pulled from the Mohawk River this weekend died of a heart attack. The woman and her car ended up in the river after she called 911 to say that she was lost. Authorities and the woman's husband believe she had the heart attack before she was in the water. A Shen grad bombed out of the World Series of Poker this weekend, losing his shot at several million dollars.

Or, one could say he beat 6,681 other players and took home three million dollars. Potato, potato.

"A Shen grad bombed out of the World Series of Poker this weekend, losing his shot at several million dollars."

Didn't he still take home $3 million? Seems like several to me.

@B, Chris: You're both totally correct. It's fixed.

I wasn't necessarily commenting to have it fixed, just thought the perspective was interesting. It did follow Giannetti's view, from the TU article:

Giannetti said he wanted to win the title, saying the $3 million for fourth place was no consolation.
"Who won fourth place last year?" Giannetti said, adding nobody remembers.

I sympathize, coming so close to that kind of achievement and missing has to be heartbreaking, but to not see it as its own accomplishment? Ulcer-inducing I'm sure, but that sympathy only goes so far for someone who's still bringing home over $1m after taxes. I'd rather congratulate him.
