Stuff to do this weekend
AOA is taking a little bit of an end of the year breather, but we've gathered up a few things to do this holiday weekend. After the jump, a sample of some good stuff going on this weekend.

Roller Derby
The Albany All Stars skate their last bout of 2011 at the Washington Avenue Armory Friday night. Doors open at 6, bout starts at 7. $12 , $4 for kids under 12.
Ice skating at the ESP
The ice skating rink at the Empire State Plaza officially re-opens this Saturday (it was last open in 2008). The event will include figure skating demonstrations, as well as free skate rental and hot chocolate. The rink opens at 11 am. Figure skating demonstration at 2 pm. (Rink will be closed from 1-2 pm for maintenance.)
First Night Saratoga
There's still time to get a First Night Saratoga button. The $15 button gets you into events all over the Spa City on New Year's Eve. Music, theater, art, comedy and more. Things get started at 5:30 and run through 12:30.
B3nson and Swordpaw present: The Last New Year's Eve!
The B3enson and Swordpaw crews are teaming up for to ring in the new year Saturday night at Valentine's. The lineup includes: Sgt Dunbar, Jed Davis, The Slaughterhouse Chorus, Hawazin, and Secret Release. 8 pm - $10
New Year's Eve with the Felice Brothers
The Felice Brothers are playing a New Year's Eve show at Helsinki Hudson Saturday
night. 9 pm - $35
Putnam Den New Year's Eve Party
Sirsy headlines on New Year's Eve at Putnam Den. Maryleigh and The Fauves will also be there. The party starts at 8 pm. $7 in advance / $10 at the door
Comedy
+ Proctors hosts the "First Night of Funny" showcasing four comedians: Johnny Rizzo, Jim David, Paul Bond and Carole Montgomery. Saturday night at 8 pm - $34
+ The Palace also has its 4th annual "New Year's Eve Comedy Blast." Comedian Killer Beaz headlines. Saturday night at 9 pm - $20 and up.

Correction - the Roller Derby will actually be next weekend, on Saturday night. You missed (or already went to) the last bout of this year, but that means you can start the year off right and catch the first bout of 2012!
