Where's the plow?

Today in municipal snow clearing info tech: Chicago has launched a site called "Chicago Shovels" that includes a realtime map that tracks where the city's snowplows are operating. NYT on the snowplow tracker: "city officials expect [the map] to debunk the belief that routes are politically motivated." (Next level: a mashup with the tracker and the addresses of local political leaders.)

Really? This is the best use of their time?

"Even with the gun ban in place, shootings in Chicago have been rampant. Last weekend, at least 52 were shot and ten killed in just three days, and this weekend the gunfire continued"

Can they fill that much retail and office space in downtown Albany? I think they'll be able to fill the residential, but that much retail space requires the same kind of national chain stores that are in Latham or Wolf Road. 300,000 square feet would be more than 7 Marshall's stores. Unless downtown is in the running for the Costco (unlikely) or the Cabella's (still pretty unlikely but maybe less so), what stores would open in downtown Albany?
