3 months ago AOA posted a similar topic...with a grain of salt...why the northern lights love? no one goes there any more...it's too crowded.

@elvin: That last post was about numbers from the first three quarters of the year. When I saw the numbers for all of 2011, I figured it was worth another mention. If I knew the year-end numbers would come along, I probably wouldn't have posted the another thing -- I would have just waited. So it goes.

i just want to know why. do the people who book the acts have some awesome manipulation tactic where the band never knows how crappy the zero visibility/blocked stage/awful venue is until the day they perform? how are they able to keep their stage where it is? truly one of the worst venues, don't know how they get the semi decent shows they get.

"no one goes there any more...it's too crowded."

This is the comment of 2012 so far for me. Brilliant in its defective logic.

@-S: That line has a long history:

Jen, the usual explanation is that the capital district is right in the line of fire for many tour schedules (coming north from or going south to NYC), and Northern Lights is the right sized venue for pop acts.

@Greg: thanks, I like learning nuggets of American culture. Including nuggets with a defective, chewy center.
