The designated cabinet member

Albany Law School grad and Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack sat out last night's State of the Union address in an undisclosed location. Vilsack was named the Designated Cabinet Member -- the guy who would take over should something catastrophic happen to all the presidential successors at the Capitol. But does he have a best friend who's smarter than him?

I used a WW quote for my facebook status last night saying I would just check CNN tomorrow to read a fraction of what Obama said rather than watch what he actually said. A paraphrase of Toby Ziegler to the DNC convention stations.

And just now, I was thinking back on that west wing moment, before I even clicked on the link :-p

Oh, that makes me want to watch the West Wing!

I admit, when I watched the start of the SOTU, I wondered, "Who's the guy?" Didn't know it was my fellow Hamilton College alumnus, though.
